The Macular Degeneration Foundation announces competition winners.
The winners were announced at the Macular Degeneration Foundation’s One Decade Gala dinner in Sydney on Friday 20 May 2011 which marked the official celebration of the Foundation’s 10th anniversary.
The competition was judged by leading business woman, journalist, author and Patron of the Macular Degeneration Foundation Ita Buttrose, iconic artist Ken Done, and renowned Australian photographers Robert McFarlane and Kellyann Denton.
All Australians were invited to capture their visual story through the lens of a camera and bring attention to this devastating eye disease which affects one in seven Australians over the age of 50. Macular Degeneration affects central vision which is responsible for our ability to see faces, read, drive, distinguish colours clearly and see the focus of our world.

This tree gives testimony to life surviving this harsh environment as researchgives future hope for curing MD.
